Mya Sketchly

Mya Sketchly has never been particularly interested in the safe version of anything. Her coloring books have romance and whimsy, yes — but they also have a slightly eerie edge, a detail you notice on the second look, a page that makes you smile at something you weren’t quite expecting.

The Love Doodles series started from a question: why do most adult coloring books feel so serious about being relaxing? Coloring is supposed to be enjoyable. The pages should have personality. They should make you want to pick up a different color and try something unexpected.

Each book in the Love Doodles series is designed for exactly that kind of coloring session — the ones where you’re not trying to produce a perfect result, you’re just playing. The illustrations are detailed enough to be interesting for hours, but readable enough that beginners never feel lost.

Mya works in a studio that is perpetually covered in colored pencil shavings. She considers this a success metric.
