You don’t need a garden to be a gardener. You just need something growing and somewhere to write about it. — Margareth Daffodil
Margareth Daffodil started gardening the way most people do: with enthusiasm, too many seeds, and no idea what she was actually doing. The plants were forgiving. The following season was better. The season after that was better still — because she’d started writing things down.
The Still Growing Collection is the result of years of figuring out what a garden journal actually needs to be useful. Not just a place to record what you planted, but a tool for understanding why things worked and what to try differently next year. A record of the relationship between a gardener and their particular piece of ground, in their particular climate, through their particular seasons.
The balcony and small-space journals came from a specific need: most gardening books assume you have a garden. Margareth wanted to write for the people with a window box, a fire escape, a south-facing patio — the ones who grow things despite the constraints.
She believes that gardening is fundamentally optimistic. Every seed is a bet on the future. The journal is just a way of remembering which bets paid off.
